Earthday 2020 50th anniversary countdown
2020 will be the 50th anniversary of Earth Day!

The countdown to Earth Day 2020 page is at https://www.earthday.org/earthday/countdown-to-2020/

The Towpath Trail Snack Shack is participating with the Ohio & Erie Canalway Adopt-A-Trail Towpath Trail program and also the Ohio Department of Transportation Adopt-A-Highway program. The two programs are independant of each other and both require waivers and a safety class to particapate. We meet the last Saturday monthly at 10 AM at the McDonnell trailhead. Upon completion of the McDonnell trailhead cleanup, we start the Rt 212 Scenic Byway cleanup and hike to the four mile marker by NAPA east of Bolivar for a total of 3 miles. Our Facebook McDonnell Trailhead Cleanup events are at URL: https://www.facebook.com/events/1535127479953809/

The Peace Park Blog is about the park we're establishing at the intersection of the Greenville Treaty Line and the Ohio & Erie Canalway Towpath Trail between the McDonnell Trailhead and the village of Bolivar. The Greenville Peace Treaty was the first peace treaty authorized by President George Washington and our current US Congress! 2020 will be the 225th anniversary of the treaty signed on August 3 1795 by Mad Anthony Wayne and the American Indians.

The Towpath Trail Snack Shack blog covers scheduled events we will attend at various communities along the entire 110 mile lenght of Ohio & Erie Canalway Towpath Trail. Whenever we're not at an event, chances are, we'll be blogging about something related to the Snack Shack or within a reasonable 5 mile biking, hiking or driving distance, from a remote trail location.

The Towpath Trail Snack Shack collection of hot dog and sausage dog recipes.

This Ohio & Erie Canalway Towpath Trail Blog was established to share helpful information relating to the recreational activities like biking, hiking, dog walking, horseback riding, power walking, bird and wild life watching that someone may be interested in participating.

Notice

The Great Trails Festival will be the only event scheduled through 2021!

We've decided to install vending machines in the physical towpath trail snack shack for 24/7 access instead of serving lunch between 10 am to 2 pm!
